Kibogora - Christmas Day

This is Carol’s and Frank’s Christmas Tree.

We started out Christmas day with Frank reading the Christmas story.

After exchanging gifts and we went to church. The church was completely packed. Chuck and I chose to sit outside and look in.

Christmas evening we had a Christmas dinner with the other missionaries. We had turkey, dressing and all the trimmings. In fact, a couple of days before Christmas there were two turkeys walking around the compound. On Christmas Eve they mysteriously disappeared.

We cooked one of the turkeys.

Here is Frank using a good surgical technique so that the turkey will fit in the pot.

And here is the finished product. You will notice that this turkey's breast is small compared to our turkeys in the USA. This is what you might call a "free range" variety. It sure tasted good.

We all enjoyed our Christmas dinner.

We had a very nice Christmas.

Oh, one other thing. Before we left for Africa, I bought a Poinsetta at Safeway. It was the largest one they had.

Well...you can imagine my amazement when I got to Africa and they had Poinsetta trees. Look at this...and blooming just in time for Christmas.
